Meet the Skillara Team
With diverse marketing experience, Skillara helps organizations strengthen their brand and expand their reach by using online platforms like social media and web presence as well as traditional marketing to effectively grow their business.
We build lasting relationships and partnerships with our clients because we genuinely care about their success. Throughout our careers, we have always been in the business of serving people in one capacity or another. Although we function in a “business to business” environment, we are always mindful that businesses are run by people, and it is people who search, view, click and buy.
Throughout management and high-level leadership positions in sales and marketing with Marriott, Hilton, Hard Rock Cafe and Margaritaville, Susan Reid exhibited a talent for strategic management and zeroing in on the most critical initiatives with the greatest return.
With the great eye of an artist, she usually redesigned every proof she received from graphic designers. A career shift allowed her to pursue this passion in a course of study in graphic design and digital media.
She combines strategic thinking and an artists’ eye to create marketing initiatives with compelling design to support her clients’ goals and enhance their brand personality.
Partner & VP Content Development
Glenda Roberson became a content writer long before there was a name for it. In her extensive career in sales and marketing management and consulting, she realized that she could write better ad copy than her ad agency.
Throughout positions with Hilton, Hard Rock Cafe and Marriott and as an independent consultant, Glenda left the layouts to the agencies and re-wrote the copy, herself.
She is a wordsmith with a talent for delving deep to get to her clients’ authentic story and translating it into relevant copy that attracts attention and differentiates their brand.
Director of Creative Design & Social Media
Shelby Wilson is a self-appointed design “crime squad”. Her discerning eyes are drawn to poorly designed logos that are past their prime.
She was attracted to design because it gave her an outlet for her creativity without being a starving artist. Proficient in graphic and digital design she injects an element of fun in every project.
Since she’s always been a social butterfly, the transition to social media wasn’t a stretch for her. She thrives on generating design and content for social media that grabs attention, starts a conversation and builds relationships.
Director of Promotions and Events
Joanne Bogus fine-tuned her event design and management expertise in positions with Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, planning and executing high-profile events like the Kennedy Center Honors event, shown on national television.
She expanded her event and convention management in leadership positions with large professional and trade associations, The American Automobile Association and the Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc.
A maestro of special events, tradeshows, meetings and conventions, Joanne seamlessly weaves creativity and process implementation to design visionary events that accomplish her clients’ objectives and consistently exceed their expectations.
